Imergy and Juno Capital displace diesel in the telecom sector
Imergy Power Systems announced this morning that it has signed a two-year deal with China’s Juno Capital Group. The two companies will develop energy storage systems based on Imergy’s Energy Storage solution for telecoms base stations. In telecom we often see a leap-frogging: diesel consumption is not only reduced with PV, but completely replace with PV-storage.

Modi’s Tesla visit underlines India’s huge interest in off-grid and hybrid
India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, visited the Tesla factory. Tesla CTO, JB Straubel, showed him the inside of a lithium-ion battery. CEO Musk said that the parties also discussed the possibilities and potential for solar with storage. Many remote Indian communities are not connected to the grid. Microgrids based on solar-diesel hybrid and solar plus storage are often the cheapest solution.
